Logan: One of Utah’s Best Cities

Our Company

I’m a specialist in Reverse Mortgages or HECMs (aka Home Equity Conversion Mortgages). I opened Heritage Home Loans, dba Heritage Reverse Mortgage in 2016 and dedicated myself to be the best possible Reverse Mortgage Originator. HECM Reverse Mortgages are my focus but I also offer all primary mortgages including Conventional, FHA, VA, and Jumbo Mortgages.

My company is licensed to do business in Utah, Colorado, and Nevada and I have clients all over these three states.

Best Cities Article Series

St George in Southern Utah is my home. It’s located about 300 miles south of Salt Lake City Utah and 120 miles northeast of Las Vegas Nevada on I15.

I’m convinced St. George is the greatest city in the world. There is no better place to live, raise a family, and enjoy retirement than here. But I love asking my clients what they like about their cities. From this question, I’ve learned there are some incredible places to live in Nevada, Utah, and Colorado.

This is a series of articles I write to highlight the extraordinary places throughout the Rocky Mountains from Denver to Reno and the Wasatch Front to Las Vegas.

My Article today focuses on Logan Utah

I love Logan Utah and can say from experience that it is an amazing and beautiful community to live in. Logan is the home of Utah State University which is where I earned my associate’s degree.

Utah State University:

USU’s about page gives one of the best descriptions of why USU is such a great school.

-just minutes from two mountain ranges and within a half day’s drive of six national parks, including Yellowstone and Arches. It provides big-school opportunities with a small-school feel, and all for a great value.

-USU is the #5 Public university in the nation in “National Universities Rankings 2017” by Washington Monthly (2017)

I liked attending USU because it was a top-level University with reasonable prices. Additionally, it was packed with social events, activities, clubs, and other things to keep young minds busy. Ultimately, I loved Logan because I had a lot of fun at USU.

History:

Logan is an old pioneer town settled by early members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The area has about 125,000 people but it has many historical buildings. Also, it does well to maintain a small-town feeling.

Weather:

Ok, full disclosure, if you don’t like the cold, Logan is not the place for you. Although Spring and Summer are very pleasant months, Winter is absolutely brutal. Waiting outside for the shuttle to my early morning classes was my only real complaint about Logan. Those were days I’ll not forget. Additionally, it’s probably one of the reasons I ended up settling in St George.

I hope you’ve liked these highlights of Logan Utah. If you’re looking for a good University for someone you care about this is top of the list for Utah Cities.
