Though not in Utah the Valley of Fire State Park in Southern Nevada is a beautiful place with lots of red rock formations that you often find throughout Southern Utah. The Valley of Fire is located just an hour and a half southwest of St George near Lake Meade. If you love Red Rock formations and Native American Petroglyphs, you’ll love the Valley of Fire. Just keep in mind that it’s southern Nevada and in my opinion, it is named Valley of Fire more for the weather than the rock formations. It’s great from about November to April but beyond that, the temperatures tend to get pretty high.

Gooseberry Mesa

I picked up Mountain Biking last year and immediately fell in love. This is another reason why I love Southern Utah so much. There is an endless number of world-class trails for hikers and bikers within 100 miles of Southern Utah. Gooseberry Mesa is one of those must-see trails because it gives you a panoramic view of Zion National Park and pine valley mountain to the North, Hurricane, St. George and Sand Hollow to the West, and the Arizona Strip on the south. My Brothers and I rode this trail at sunset and were blown away at the beauty. It is a must-see but as a biker keeps in mind it is a slightly more advanced trail but still worth it if you’re not an advanced rider, you’ll just have to walk your bike in quite a few spots.

Leave a comment if you’ve been to these locations and what you loved most about them.
