Explore Southern Utah in 2017 – April & May
This year my family and I have set the goal to explore Southern Utah and its surrounding areas. The idea is to take advantage of the wonderful destinations in our own backyard. Below are highlights from our April and May adventures.
Ivins Reservoir
Southern Utah is famous for its beautiful weather and sunny skies. Knowing we’d be taking advantage of the great weather we decided to invest in an inflatable raft. Our maiden voyage was a few miles west of Ivins Utah at Ivins Reservoir. It’s a small lake close to town which is great for swimming, fishing, and boating.
2017 Wings and Wheels Show
Held every year at the St George Regional Airport the Wings and Wheels show is a Classic Plane and Car show. I attended with my son who absolutely loved the experience. As is the case with most little boys he has a natural love for Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.
Sand Hollow Reservoir
Just a couple of weeks ago we celebrated my wife’s birthday at Sandhollow with some family friends. Sand Hollow is in Washington County between St George and Hurricane. It is a wonderful lake with perfect sandy beaches. As a state park, there is a $10 entrance fee but it’s a small price to pay for a day of swimming, boating, and playing in the sand.
As you can tell from my lack of tan I have a lot of work to do this summer to enjoy Southern Utah and the sunny weather we’re so fortunate to have. Watch for upcoming posts as we find new places to explore.
